Sodium metasilicate anhydrous and its production technology

  Anhydrous sodium metasilicate is white or light grey grain. Its molecular Formula is Na2SiO3(Na2O.SiO2).

  Production technology:

  First one: Continuous granulation. Transform the solution of sodium metasilicate into continuous granules of certain size through granulation crystal devices. The quality indicators can meet the standards of HG/T2568-94. The product is high-grade spherical granule with high whiteness and good fluidity. This method is suitable for massive production, yet the technology is not easy to master.

  Second one: Crystal dehydration or mother liquor circulation method. Adding seed crystal or mother liquor to the solution of sodium metasilicate, then dry and sieve it dynamically after centrifugal dewatering to obtain granular or powdered product. It is difficult for this method to be applied to massive production. However, its appearance and fluidity is excellent. In addition, its quality indicators can meet the standards of HG/T2568-94 as well.

  Third one: Crushed crystal method. Concentrate the solution of sodium metasilicate to certain concentration, then add seed crystal and additive to prompt the solution to crystallize into solid block. When all free water transforms into crystal water, the product can be obtained after solid smash. This method needs less investment, but it can cause serious destruction to crystal structure, and the requests for climate and control requirements are strict. Adding on the high labour intensity, low whiteness and easy deliquescence, physical and chemical indicators commonly can not reach the requirements of HG/T2568-94.
